King Charles III Coronation Celebration May 2023
We celebrated the coronation of King Charles the III with a day of merriment at S.U.N. Children learned all about King Charles and the coronation before preparing a feast fit for a King for the whole school to enjoy. The children across the school from Acorns to Sycamore made a range of sandwiches, sausage rolls, fruit kebabs, cakes and biscuits for everyone to enjoy in a picnic. The typical British weather prevailed and we set up the feast in the hall before enjoying some sunshine and rain
Year 6 Retreat Day and Church Leavers Service
At the end of the Summer Term 2022, as part of their sprititual development, our Year 6 Leavers had a wonderful day of outdoor learning in our beautiful local environment. We walked along the Pilgrims Path through St Michaels Burial ground and the site of ancient church ruins, through our stunning West Berkshire countryside to St. Mary's Church in Sulhamstead Abbots sharing tales of the past with Reverand Peabody and a group of our local parishiners. Having had a picnic lunch at the church whilst basking in the glorious sunshine, the children learned about the local history told by the church yard, rang the Church bells and created a musical feast with Canon John as conductor. The day was completed by the children and their parents having their final thanksgiving service, sharing prayers and singing their favourite hymns and being presented a bible by Canon John. The community spirit felt by all was inspiring; thank you to all those who gave their time to make a memorable day for our children.

Sports Day 2022
Our annual Sport's Day took place on the 24th June 2022 and was followed by a scucessful Summer Fete.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Summer 2022
A wonderful celebration of the Queesn' Platinum Jubilee took pplace in school with a day of cross phase learning creating crowns, artwork and food for our Jubilee whole school street party topped off with a celebratory May Pole performance to all our parents and guests. All the children were presented with a commemorative Jubilee Coin, kindly funded by Friends of Sun and a Platinum Jubilee Book for all our children.
Ufton Dole, Spring 2022
We take part in the local tradition of the Ufton Dole at Ufton Court.

World Book Day 2022
We celebrated the 25th World Book Day by dressing as our favourite book characters, and children were invited to donate a book for our newly refurbished library, which would have a book plate inside to commemorate the day with the child's name so it can be enjoyed now and for all our future children. Mrs Whitaker set a challenge too - to create a book character out of fruit and vegetables! Can you identify any in the photos?
